PGT® Introduces Versatile WinGuard Sliding Glass Door and Anodize Finish Option at SEBC 2009

VENICE, Fla, July 30, 2009PGT Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of PGT, Inc. (NASDAQ: PGTI) and one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of custom windows and doors, will unveil the Aluminum Sliding Glass Door Series 670 and WinGuard® Impact-Resistant 770 at the 2009 Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) July 30-August 1 in Orlando, Fla. at Booth #1459. PGT will also introduce the Class II clear anodize frame finish option for its WinGuard and Architectural Systems product lines at the conference.

” The Sliding Glass Door Series 670 and 770 will enable builders and installers to reconfigure the door out in the field with minimal time and money. The sliding door panel interlocks are interchangeable and reversible and can be switched from a standard stack to a reverse stack. The sliding glass doors are offered from one panel up to eight panels as by-pass, pocket or corner doors, ranging in size from 6’8” up to 10’ tall in monolithic glass, insulating glass, laminated glass and laminated insulating glass.

The Series 670 and 770 sliding glass doors will be available to order at the end of 2009. The products will be available in a variety of finishes: clear anodize, Arizona beige, Pebble Khaki, Venetian Bronze and ETERNA® Finish. White and bronze are standard frame finish options.

Additional features of the Series 670 and 770 sliding glass doors include: dual point mortise locking mechanism; choice of raised handles or recessed pulls; roller assembly options: 2 1/8” wheels as either tandem steel wheels, tandem stainless steel wheels or tandem Delrin® wheels with stainless steel housing; replaceable sill tracks; and design pressures of +/- 60 up to +90/-110.

In August 2009, Class II clear anodize frame finish option will be available to order. This classic aluminum finish will be available with WinGuard and Architectural Systems products.   

Select PGT windows qualify for the recent tax credit in the 2009 Stimulus Plan, which enables homeowners to receive a tax credit of up to $1500 by purchasing qualifying energy-efficient products. Among these products are select configurations of the SpectraGuard 2300 series windows and the WinGuard Vinyl Casement (CA 540) and Picture Window (PW520).
